Asanas and Benefits

1. PADMASANA
Benefit- This relieves the pain in the knee, ankle and helps in bette
r functioning of waist, back and abdomen.

2. KARNA SPRUSHTA JANU PADMASANA (Yogamudra – part 1 )
This cures constipation, increases digestive power, removes extra fat in stomach and trunk.

3. KARNA SPRUSHTA JANU PADMASANA (Yoga mudra – part 2 )
Same as Yogamudra part 1 and this helps to broaden the chest and provides good exercise to shoulders.

4. BADDHA PADMASANA
Baddha Padmasana relieves one form bent back and by deep breathing relieves stomach problems. It also helps in expansion of the chest. Bhu-namana Asana helps one to bend forward many times, resulting in the slimming down of the waist.

5. UTTHITHA PADMASANA
This asana helps in relieving constipation. Because of the work done in the asana digestion power improves. Since the weight of the body falls on hands they become sturdy and strong. This asana improves the shoulder strength also.

6. LOLASANA
Same benefit as uthitha padmasana.

7. THULASANA
The fat around the waist gets reduced and helps in slimming. It also helps in relieving the stomach ailments.

8. UTTHITHA HASTHA PADA MERUDANDASANA (NAVASANA)
Helps in reducing the ailments of stomach, chest, thighs and waist.

9. UTTHITHA SHIRSHA BADDHA HASTHA MERUDANDASANA
Diseases of stomach, chest and thighs are cured and the digestion power too improves.

10. UTTHITHA DWIPADASANA ( VIPLAREETHA KARNI )
Muscles of the stomach become stronger. Constipation gets cured. Diseases like piles that come as a result of constipation are completely cured.

11. SARVANGASANA
Cures asthma, increased heart beat, partial headache, colds, short temper, nervous disability, insomnia, constipation, piles, fits, leucoderma, diabetes, tuberculosis and energises the whole body.

12. VALITHAPADA SARVANGASANA
All-round benefits for neck, chest, waist and stomach, and good shape. Increases ones life span.

13. EKAPADA HALASANA
Increases the memory power. Facial beauty increases as blood supply to the face increases.

14. HALASANA
This asana gives strength to the abdominal muscles. It decreases the fat around the stomach. It helps in decreasing the body weight and relieves headache, pain in the neck, spine and waist. It rejuvenates blood supply to the brain and brings mental freshness.

15. SHAVASANA
Rest for mind and body. The Yoga sadhaka will remain active the whole day. Patients of high and low B.P. can attain normalacy by doing this asana regularly.

16. MATHSYASANA
By performing this asana, thighs knees, trunk, neck and the chest will be freed of problems and they will become strong. By doing this asana piles get cured and the whole body gets rejuvenated.

17. PASCHIMOTHANASANA
By doing this asana the fat around the stomach is reduced and relieves constipation. This cures backache also. It relaxes the muscles of the thighs. It has a curative effect on diseases like asthma. This asana cures piles too.
18. VAKRASANA
By performing this asana, the incidence of appendicitis can be reduced. Semen production gets increased. The problems of natural emissions will be reduced. By twisting the neck towards the right and left any sprain in the neck will be relieved. This asana can also cure back pain and waist pain.
19. ARDHAMATHSYENDRASANA
This asana gives all the effects of Ardha Mathsyendrasana. Those who cannot perform Ardha Mathsyendrasana, can perform this asana.

20. BHUJANGASANA
It cures chest pain. It facilitates blood circulation to the intestine, lever and pancreas, improves digestion and increases appetite. Back muscles problems get reduced and chest expands.

21. SARALA HASTA BHUJANGASANA( Sarpangasana)
Same benefit as Bhujangasana

22. DHANURASANA
By performing this asana, the back bone and the waist get strengthened and any dislocation in the back bone system gets relieved.
23. SUPTHA MAKARASANA
One gets the effect of shavasana by doing this asana and also the body develops more heat.

24. EKA PADASHALABHASANA and
25. SHALABHASANA
By performing this asana, digestion power increases, reduces gas trouble, rhenumatism gets relieved. By doing this any dislocation in the back bone or slipdisc problem gets relieved. This strengthens the kidneys too.
26. ARDHA CHAKRASANA
By doing this asana, one gets relieved of waist pain and the pain in the legs.





27. CHAKRASANA
By doing this asana, backbone gets strengthened and the body gets invigorated and the mind becomes fresh and the body light.


28. PADAHASTHASANA
By performing this asana, stomach problems such as gas trouble, constipation etc,. get reduced. It also reduces the fat around the waist.

29. ARDHAKATI CHAKRASANA
By doing this asana, one get relieved of all problems connected to the trunk or waist.

30. UTHITA THRIKONASANA
By doing this asana the muscles in the leg become strong. Any deformation in the legs also gets corrected. This asana cures back ache and sprain in the neck. Elbows gets strengthened, the chest expands. This asana is very good for cricket players.

31. MAYURASANA
By practicing his asana, the toxic substances that get generated in the body are expelled. It also relieves one of diabetics t some extent.

32. SIMHASANA
By doing this asana, one can get relieved of bad breath. Stammering and hiccups problems in the children and elders also get cured.
33. VAJRASANA
By sitting in this asana for a long time, our body fitness will improves and body will harden like a diamond. This asana paves way for mental peace.




34. SUPTHA VAJRASANA
By doing this asana, back ache gets relieved and semen production increases , promoting vitality.

35. SWSTIKASANA
One can sit in this asana for Dhyana. That , one can perform Dhyana and Pranayama sitting in this posture. One gets the same good effects of Padmasana by performing this asana also.

36. SIDDHASANA
By practicing this asana, the stiffness of the knees and the feet get relived. Also the trunk back bone and the abdomen get stronger, one can safeguard celibacy also.

37. SHIRSHASANA

This asana is known as “ King of all asanas ”. By doing this asana regularly without fail, blood is made to circulate through the cells of the brain and the brain becomes energized and intelligence power also increased by doing this asana. Body gets enlightened and problems like cough, cold, bad breath and increased heart beat etc., can be cured.

( those persons who are having mental tension should not do this asana. If they are interested too much, first they should relax in shavasana and then they can do this asana.)
